I remember back in 1999 when Brian Burke wheeled and dealed to get #2 and #3 at the draft. One of the trades was CHI 3rd overall for Bryan McCabe and VAN 2000 1st overall.
I kinda used this as a bench mark Comparing Coyle to Bryan McCabe and Granlund to VAN 2000 1st. I do understand there is a risk of being ripped of here, but I am hoping to share similar success as Burke did!

I take a safe route taking two very promising near NHL-ready prospects. Both have some issues to get over with. Granlund with size, injuries and NHL size rink. Coyle with skating and true offensive upside.
Minnesota takes more of a gamble and could end up with Nail for all we know. Anyways gets excellent prospect from this years draft.

Just to clarify we are not have a draft lottery. The draft rankings go in exact order based on this years real life standings. So for montreal to get Nail Columbus has a lot of winning to do.

Please clarify last post. The fantasy draft order is determined by NHL real life standings after the season ends or after the lottery draft?

In rules it just says based on real standings because in every year other than this year we will have our own standings to go by without a lottery, there is no rule about whether when we use NHL standings if we use real lottery winners or real standings.

Can we get a final call on that? obviously this is huge importance to the GM's with lottery picks.

I think we should use real life lottery standings this year. I was always under the impression that's how it goes. And I'm sure WildGM also thought so. It should be made a rule for this year because trade as significant as this was made.
