Under League Rules: Rule 8 "The draft order will be based on the inverse of the standings from the previous season. This will not be a snake ordered draft" No mention of lottery.

Sure there will be no lottery in the future, but this years draft should go as teams draft positions go in real life, including draft lottery for bottom teams of course. I have nothing to lose at this point, but I want to defend the pick Wild has now.

Well first of all remember that the lottery makes a very minimal impact on individual picks. But we will make a decision on it

To further Habs point, I confirm that we had discussions of the possibility of the Habs 1st Round Pick becoming Nail Yakupov during our negotiations. It was a integral part of the trade. I would be dissappointed to learn that this is not a reality, but I do conceed to not fully understanding the rules of the draft; nor did I seek prior explanation of draft rules before the trade occured. I assumed the draft order included the lottery for this year only. Will wait for the offical ruling.

Lottery can make a huge difference for a bottom team. I myself would have been hugely pissed if Montreal won lottery in real life after being say 3rd last team and would have chance to take Yakupov instead of someone else and then this league would say "nope, you'll pick at number three where you finished" while real life Canadiens would have Nail.
It's not a big issue for most of the league, but I think it's important for bottom dwellers.

Canadiens isn't a bad talent team fantasy wise. Just this year they have been bad

True about Canadiens, but that's not the point. The point is this one time this fantasy league should follow exactly where teams draft in real life. Next year it's agreed this league won't have internal draft lottery.

I say have fun trying to convince the Blue Jackets GM who picked the Jackets mostly because they are so far ahead of everyone in failing for Nail that he may lose Nail thru the lottery. The jackets need nail way more than the Wild or the Canadians or any other team for that matter just to balance the league.

With all due respect to the Blue Jackets, the decision that will be made by the league comissioners on whether or not our draft will include lottery positions should have nothing to do with individual GM preferences. I think the decison will be made upon what is best for the league at this time. It is very difficult to please all GM's in this situation, so I accept they will decide what is best for the whole league.
